I honestly had never heard of the city Fehervar, but I know it now. The Hungarian team is new on the scene and will be trying to make their name known.

QB – This is where heartbreak starts early for the new ELF team. They signed former D-I recruit Gabriel Cunningham from the Leipzig Kings this year, but the star QB has recently decided to not play for the team. Absolutely Detrimental. They only have one QB on the roster currently (Mate Hegedus) and pretty much planned their team around Cunningham. Now that he’s gone, they’ll have to scramble around the Hungarian QB or find a free agent fast. It will be interesting to see how they continue.

RB – Local talent Erik Madaras will be their star in this backfield. He is only 20 years old and has played at the top level of European leagues. He’s shifty, fast and has a good pass catching ability. I think he’ll take the lead in this backfield.

WR – Benjamin Plu is a former CFL prospect who is coming over from the Barcelona Dragons. He had 5 touchdowns and over 500 yards last year, PLUs (see what I did there) he’s 6’3 so his quarterback can throw it up to him whenever he wants. He’ll be the lead receiver on this team and have his chance to shine on his own. The Enthroners also signed Jay Griffin IV an American import with insane speed. He had one of the fastest times ever in the 200-meter dash while at New Mexico State and is just a burner on the field. I don’t think a person can stop him in this league, but he needs a quarterback to get him the ball. Without a strong QB the Enthroners will have to find new ways to get Griffin the ball. I could see him playing a little running back to take some pressure of their inexperienced QB.

O-Line – The big signing on the line is Alper Pekozer. Pekozer was a second-team all-star last year with the Berlin Thunder. Getting someone with this type of experience is critical especially when you have a new QB who’s going to need more time to process these defenses. It seems they are stealing their Thunder, because they also signed Connor Bolton from the Berlin team. These two guys should provide for a steady front line. The rest of the line will be Hungarians who will learn from these two experienced linemen.

D-Line – Jebrai Regan is originally an American football player who has been playing in Hungary for 6 years and has his citizenship. He wants to make the Enthroners winners and he has the talent to do it. Florian Hirsch won a championship with the Danube Dragons last year, but he didn’t have great stats. He’ll need to step it up this year. Interested to see if the Hungarian members of this line will be enough to stop high-powered offenses in the ELF.

Linebackers – Janos Zilai is a player to watch. He’s young, fast, tough, and has experience playing the championship game in the Czech league. Antony Rodrigues is a strong French Linebacker who played for the Barcelona Dragons last year. He had 77 tackles with 6.5 tackles for loss and will be a strong member of this Enthroners team. Another player to watch is Remy Sap. Sap has a lot of experience and once won comeback player of the league in the Austrian league. With a name like Remy Sap he should be able to sell some merchandise.

Defensive Backs – Elijah Moody will be the guy to watch. Moody is coming straight from D-I Nevada to the ELF. He was a playmaker all last year for the Wolfpack and his game should transfer to this league. Look for opposing QB’s to get a little Moody when he is in the game. David Toth is by far the best Hungarian corner. He had 10 turnovers caused last year, 8 of those being interceptions. He’s just a beast and I can’t wait to see if he can maintain his production in a new league. Mateusz Dzioban played the last five games of the year last year with the Istanbul Rams and knows the speed of the ELF. He is a good add for a team that will need to rely on this strong secondary to stop defenses.

Their season will completely rely on who is playing quarterback. If they can’t sign another player they will be in a lot of trouble. They have talent everywhere else on the field (except maybe D-Line) but without a good QB, no team is going to excel.
