It’s Week 15, the Eagles are 10-3, solidly in playoff position. Tough two losses in a row but still in good shape from an outside perspective, key word “outside” there. My thoughts are the Eagles are in deep, deep trouble. Let’s start with Jalen—his turnovers are killing this team; he makes unbelievable plays every week but the turnovers are hurting him and the team in general. It seems like he doesn’t become a great player until the 4th quarter and a lot of the time that’s too late. The stats back this up as well. In the first half, Jalen has thrown for 6 TD’s and 5 interceptions with a QB rating of 87, in the second half he has 13 TDs to 5 interceptions with a rating of 101. He’s clutch, there’s no doubt about it, but the first half concerns me. If you face the Niner’s there’s no game winning drive to be had in the 4th quarter, you’re already down 21. The other part of the Eagles that concerns me is the secondary. No surprise here. Every week they get thrashed and thrashed and news today (12/16/23) is that Darius Slay is out for an unknown amount of time due to knee surgery. Awful news. Bradberry got trashed talk before the game by Deebo and it didn’t motivate him at all. They looked like high schoolers compared to Deebo. Now we have Bradley Roby as the starter on the other side, I don’t like where this is going. Luckily, the Eagles have a fairly soft schedule to end the season: Seahawks, Giants 2x, and Cardinals. That should be an undefeated rest of the season, sitting at 14-3, they’re going to have to pray that the Niners or Cowboys both lose in the upcoming weeks and they can sneak in for that first round bye. Otherwise, I see this Eagles team as a second-round exit, another devastating end to a promising season. Side note: I don’t like Sirianni, I think he’s corny and won’t win the big game ever. Probably outrageous to say since he was so close last year, but these are my opinions, can’t do anything about them.
