This new clip shows me all I need to know about Sean Payton. Sure, I have respect for what he’s done in the past and all he’s done for the City of New Orleans, but recently, I don’t know if it’s a mid-life crisis or what, he’s been such a little whiner. He didn’t have to take this job, I’m sure there were plenty of other jobs whether in college or the pros for a Super Bowl winning coach. He knew what he was getting into, yet every week he seems to blame a new person. This week it’s the fact he couldn’t overhaul an entire roster. No shit you couldn’t do that, it’s the NFL, not my fantasy team.

This isn’t the first instance of Payton doing this either. Here’s an article from USA Today:

He planted the seeds from the onset of hiring, blaming Hackett and the whole organization for their failures. I always thought Payton was a great coach but maybe, as the years went by, he lost that trait coaches all need: selflessness. They need to be able to take the blame in public, but lay into the players when the locker room doors are shut. Listen, Payton did walk into a fucked-up situation, but he knew it would be this way, it should be on him to take the blame. We’ll see how it goes next year, but it looks like they’ll be without Russ and an overhaul is coming. Maybe the King of Queens can pull it out or maybe he’ll be another bad footnote in the Bronco’s recent history.
