The new kids in the ELF, this team was a powerhouse in the Italian Football League. The Seamen look to bust onto the scene and splatter the competition of their new league. A championship would be the glazing on top.

QB – Luke Zahradka – This New York native is a veteran of European football. He has been playing there since 2014 after attending D-II Bentley University in America and has had great success, especially with the Seamen. This is a level up, but expect the veteran to handle it like a guy who has spent a bunch of years overseas (Seamen joke).

RB – I expect Modeste Pooda to be the starter for this team coming into 2023. He was a backup for the Vienna Vikings last year and became a champion. It’s important to have players who know what it takes to be a champ and Pooda certainly does.

WR – Jean Constant will be the work horse for this offense. He had over 1,000 yards in 2021 and was the top yards getter that year. Last year, he had over 900 yards and 7 touchdowns for the Hamburg Sea Devils. The leading receiver in ELF history will be the guy in this offense. The rest of the receivers are young and hungry. Be on the lookout for GianCarlo Santagostino to make a splash in the ELF. I expect Daniel Marshall, a tight end from Britain, to be a large factor in the offense as well.

O-Line – The Seamen really came up big with the signing of Lewis Thomas, a strong physical guard who was a first team all-star last year for the Hamburg Sea Devils. They also bring in some veterans with Francesca Runco and Thomas Filleccia, who have experience playing in the ELF and will give Zahradka the time and space he needs to get the ball to Constant.

D-Line – Their defense has a lot of questions. This line is full of Italian men with no experience playing in the ELF. I imagine it being somewhat difficult for them to face up against some of the bigger O-lines in the league. Claudia Nicola is a veteran in the IFL and should help the squad move forward.

Linebackers – Tiberio Calbucci was their leading tackler last year and, as a 22-year-old, seems to be the guy for the linebackers. Look for him to lead the team in tackles once again.

DB’s – They used two imports on their defensive backs with Dejvion Edwards Steward and Marquise Manning. Manning is a young stud who was NFL hopeful, but will now take his talents to the ELF, expect him to be the leader for the defensive backfield. Relatively unknown team front to back, it may be tough for the seamen in their first year. 4 wins would be great for this team.

Rare Kicker Special – The Seamen have just recently signed ex-NFL kicker Georgio Tevecchio. “Italian Ice” as he’s known in the States can truly be a difference maker for this team. Kicker play isn’t the best in the league and Tevecchio can hit 50-plus yard field goals with ease, so he should be utilized often.

With Italian Ice on the team, I’ll up their win total to 5.
