The Ravens of Munich look to make a big splash into the ELF led by some key signings. I see big things on the horizon for this team.
Led By John Shoop (former NFL offensive coordinator and D-I OC) the Ravens are cawing at the door (lol)
QB- Chad Jeffries – Jeffries played ball at San Diego state and a small D-II school before making the leap to Europe in 2016. Last year he won the MVP in the Austrian football league. He’s experienced and ready for his big shot on the big stage in Europe.
RB – Look for Justin Rodney, a 2021 champ with the Galaxy, to make a charge as the lead back in this backfield. Tomiwa Oyewo, an Irish tailback, should also get plenty of reps.
WR – They bring in a D-II athlete in Markell Castle who looks to give the receiving core a boost in the speed department. Castle played well for the Milano Seaman last year. Marvin Rutsch has played well for the Galaxy the last year and is a past champion. They have a solid receiving group, but not the best by any means.
O-Line – Schmidt, Ondra and Biegert will be three big guys up front for the Ravens. Really would’ve liked to see a little more talent signed at this position, but those three guys could be solid pieces.
D-Line – They have Dominic Siegel, a champion with the Vienna Vikings last year. Bilal Mawuena was an all Europe all-star last year and even had 4.5 sacks in a game. Another weak part of the Ravens, this area needs to be addressed.
LB- Amin Black will be the name you will hear a lot for this defense. Philly stand up! This Villanova product was a beast in college and his success continued into German league play. He should be the enforcer on this defense. Also, they have a guy named Kevin Titz which should sell plenty of jerseys.
DB – Little spicy in the defensive backfield. They signed Darius Saint-Robinson from the Wrocław Panthers, where he played very well. He may be on the older side, but he was one of the best defensive backs in college at Clemson. He even signed a three-year contract with the Bills before an injury. I’m worried age may affect him this year, but I think he’ll be able to keep up. The rest of the secondary is a question mark. Joshcka Barts should play well after a good season in the GFL, but he doesn’t have experience in this league. If I had to guess, this is the area they may struggle the greatest.
I’m gonna be honest, I don’t love this team. I think they have a losing record. There’s too much unknown at every position besides linebacker. They’ll struggle to compete, but I still think they will in most games.
