8-4 in 2022, losing in the semifinals of the playoffs. Also, sweet name having the nickname come first. Just love it.

QB- They lost MVP and hall of fame-type QB Sean Shelton this year and will try to rebuild around new Raider, Christian Strong. He was a two time all-star in the German league and has big shoes to fill.

RB – Not much to say here. They have some new RB’s who are going to have to prove themselves. Tobias Bonatti had over 450 yards rushing last year, but they may need to rely on him some more with Shelton gone. Breaking: Sorry Tobias, but the Raiders have signed Sandro Platzgummer making this team so much better. They will be hard to stop all year. Look for big things coming for this team.

WR – They were one of the best passing offenses last year, but no Shelton, not gonna be the same offense. They signed Jarvis McClam who was a teammate of Christian Strong’s at Seton Hill. This duo can be explosive as McClam was the leading scorer in the German football league. They will also have Marco Schneider, their leading receiver from last year, coming back. He had 600 yards receiving and 8 TD’s. Good numbers but he will probably be the number 2 next year.

O-Line – Michael Habetin, their all-star tackle, has retired, but they signed Danish lineman Steven Nielsen, who played at Eastern Michigan and in the CFL. Basil Weber is another name to watch for. The former Galaxy tackle brings his talents to Tirol, making this group solid upfront.

Raiders D was 4th overall in defense and second in rushing defense. They’re stout up front and have added some good talent to the back end of the defense.

D-Line- Niklas Gustav is their stopper. He had 10 sacks last year at DE and was a second team all-star. Look for him to dominate. They also signed Joel Maddock a star in Australia and in Germany who played D-I ball in the States. He should help Gustav stop opposing offenses.

LB – The Ogbevoen brothers are joining forces in Austria! Precious and Lucky we’re both top 20 in tackles last year and will look to become stronger together. They will join ILB Ruben Seeber as part of a great linebacking corps.

DB’s – Jalen Embry will be the story here. The former three-star recruit to Iowa who finished his career with Northern Illinois, is coming off a good year with the Frankfurt Galaxy. He had 4 interceptions last year and looks to lead this Raiders D. Jan Mayerhofer was the team leader in INT’s last year and he’s back for another campaign. They will have Mueller back as well, who was a top pass breaker for the Raiders. Always tough to see a bunch of white guys play defensive back, but I think Jalen Embry can provide some leadership for them.

I think this team struggles this year. They have a good team, but losing an MVP pretty much dooms every team ever. Can’t expect too much from the Raiders. Defense will be the star of the show.
