The Fire were 7-5 last year and barely missed the playoffs. I expect them to be hungry and ready to take off this year.
Head Coach – Jim Tomsula – The former NFL coach is a defensive mind, coming back for his second year. Look for him to take this team from worst to top of the league in defense. I am looking for big things from the Rhein Fire!
QB Jadrian Clark – Coming off a great campaign where he was 7th in yards and 6th in touchdowns, look for Clark to lead the team once again. The three year starter out of Weber State looks to show dominance this year and become an all-star.
RB – Daniel Rennich – 5th in the league in rushing yards in 2022, this local product looks to top his 556 yards on the ground from last year and become a force in this league. One of the few teams bringing back their top rusher, look for the run game to be a focus for them. Oh wait, and they also have the leading rusher from last year, Glenn Toonga, on their suspended list. If he can play this team is dangerous.
WR – This team brings back two top 20 WR’s . Nathaniel Robitallie was second last year in receiving yards with over 1,100 and also added 14 TD’s. Harlan Kwofie (bad ass name) added 700 yards and 7 TD’s. Then, to add to things, they add Anthony Mahongou (2021 all-star). The French product comes to the Rhein Fire from the CFL. He’s explosive and has experience in the ELF, a champion with the Galaxy in 2021. This Rhein Fire team has really built up their offense this year.
O-Line – This is where their season is make or break. They have all the weapons on offense, but can they block? The team brings back first team all-star Sven Briedenbach at tackle, which should help their cause. This offense is scary if they can block up front.
Bottom 6 in team defense last year. This is a big question area for them.
D – Line – They signed the number two sack man in the league last year, Alejandro Fernandez from Barcelona, but they lose second team all-star Christian Van Horn. Look for the local talent to step up on this front. They’re leading sack man only had 5.5 last year so they will need more pressure on the QB this year to improve, Fernandez should provide this
Linebackers – Look for leading tackler and local product Martin Pinter to lead the way here. They also added Lucas Ruoss a Swiss product to help bolster this unit. Watch out for Flamur Simon to add a nice boost to this unit, a commanding OLB with 5 sacks who lead the Centurions in tackles last year.
DB’s – Omari Williams, the American out of Samford University, was a first-team all-defense last year at Safety. He leads the way. The team also adds TJ Morrison, from Stony Brook college, who was with the Oakland Raiders for a time period. Look for this duo to really elevate the team that was bottom 4 in pass defense last year.
P – They have the first team all-star punter from last year as well.
I think they finish top of the league without a doubt. They have one of the best coaches, and have playmakers all over the field. I’m seeing a top 3 finish for this team.
