Central Conference newbie Guards will look to follow the lead of Norm Chow and start the season out hot. I think this team relies heavily on the run with Silas Nacita.

Week 1 – @ Barcelona Dragons – Going into Barcelona in week 1 with a new coach and QB will be tough. I give the edge to the Dragons. 20 – 31 L.

Week 2 – Raiders Tirol – The Raiders Tirol have the best RB in this league in Sandro Platzgummer, but the Guards have probably the second best. This will be a matchup of these two guys. I think they’re pretty even upfront as well. Tim Hanni might be the difference maker here for the Guards first win of the season. This one might not go as planned, fair warning. 28 – 24 W.

Week 3 – Munich Ravens – Ravens have an ok team in Munich, but I like the coaching for the Guards a bit more. I expect the Guards to pull this one out. 28 – 17 W.

Week 4 @ Milano Seaman – I think this game comes down to receiving and passing game. The Guards will struggle through the air even with an ex-SEC quarterback in Collin Hill. Jean Constant will be too much for the Guards. 35 – 41 L.

Week 5 @ Rhein Fire – This is just a mismatch. The Fire will dominate this league and will dominate the Guards at home in week 5. 28 – 34 L.

Week 6 Barcelona Dragons – Silas Nacita will be the difference maker here and he will dominate this game. I like the Dragons, but this won’t be their day. I see them as sluggish after a bye week. 30-10 W.

Week 7 – Stuttgart Surge – The Surge’s defense may seem to be a lot better, but I really like the Guards defense. People might think I’m stupid, but I like the Guards here. I think by this point, relative unknown Anton Jallai starts making people look stupid at WR. Give them the W here. 31 – 28 W.

Week 8 – Milano Seaman – This is a must win game for the Guards at home. I expect the Guards to come for revenge in the running game. 24 – 7 W.

Week 9 – @ Munich Ravens – The Guards will most likely be tired at this point in the season after having a very late bye week. I still think they’re the better team, but I can see them losing this one, but they won’t. 21 -17 W.

Week 11 – @ Raiders Tirol – Coming off a bye week, this is not the team you want to see. The Raiders Tirol will be rolling at this point and should polish off the Guards quick. 10 – 24 L.

Week 13 – Rhein Fire – Whoever made their schedule is a bit gone. Why two bye weeks in three weeks I do not know, but they have the toughest team in the league after this bye. If anyone was to upset the Fire it would be this supremely rested Guards team that plays at home in this one. I still don’t think they do it, but they have a shot. 20 – 24 L.

Week 14 @ Stuttgart Surge – The Guards will be on a two game losing streak at least and will absolutely need to win this game, but I think the Surge will too and they win this game with solid defensive play, and Jeffries stepping up. 17 – 24 L.

The Guards will be 6-3 at one point and that’s better than most would expect, but that all comes crashing down. Enjoy the good record while you can Switzerland, because I see absolute pain at the end. 6 – 6 record to end the season, probably miss the playoffs.
