The Seamen have dominated the IFL for the past few years and are now taking astep up in competition. It may be a rough start, but they do have some talent on the team which can turn their season around. Zahradka will have to find Constant a lot in order for this team to play well all year. Be interesting to see if the two have good chemistry.

Tough break for the Seamen to get a bye in Week 1. Doesn’t really help them at all.

Week 2 – Barcelona Dragons – Listen, the Seamen probably have the slightly better offense because of their line, but they just don’t have the defensive unit that other teams in this league have. I think Darius Slade causes problems for the Seamen and the Dragons win. 17 – 21 L.

Week 3 – @ Stuttgart Surge – The Surge are better defensively and offensively. There will be no busting of the nut in Stuttgart, Surge will win this one. 10 – 28 L.

Week 4 – Helvetic Guards – Jean Constant finally shows up in this game. I think he puts up well over 100 yards and the Seamen notch their first win of the season in a scorcher. 41-35 W.

Week 5 @ Raiders Tirol – With the addition of Sandro Platzgummer, the Raiders become a top-5 team in the league. The Seamen don’t have the defensive line to stop him. They may be able to stop the pass game with their excellent defensive backs, but Platzgummer should trample all over them. A kick in the nuts start to the season. 17 – 35 L.

Week 6 – Frankfurt Galaxy – Its simple. Frankfurt has the best pass stopping defense and the Seamen rely on that part of their game to win. They could rely on Lewis Thomas, their big guard, but it won’t be enough with their RB play. Expect the Galaxy to win this one. 17 – 30 L.

Week 7 – @ Munich Ravens – This is an interesting matchup for me. Two bottom of the league teams, who will most likely need this win. The Ravens will have to rely on their top defensive line to get after Zahradka, but I don’t think it will be enough with the Seamen’s solid O-line. I expect the Seamen to take this one. 24 – 21 W.

Week 8 – @ Helvetic Guards – In the first rematch of the season for the Seamen I think they get bested by a hungry Guards team. Silas Nacita may run all over the Seamen, leaving a sticky trail behind. 7 – 24 L.

Week 9 – Stuttgart Surge – Surge outmatch them in most categories, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the Seamen could pull one out at home. Goran Zec will be running around, but I still think Constant will get open. This may be my biggest upset pick. Look for Italian Ice Georgio Tevecchio to make some huge kicks and give them the win. 27 – 17 W.

Week 11 – @ Barcelona Dragons – I think the Dragons sweep the season series. Might be a little biased, but I think the Dragons have comparable receiver play and a bit better of a defense. I think they win this one. 17 – 24 L.

Week 12 @ Frankfurt Galaxy – Galaxy are better, more talented and the woes continue in Milan. 10 – 35 L.

Week 13 – Munich Ravens – I see another win against the Ravens at home here. Again, Constant terrorizes them. 27 – 14 W

Week 14 – Raiders Tirol – The Seamen are going to have their hands full of Sandro Platzgummer. I think Sandro pumps it right down their throat until the Seamen are finished for the season. 13 – 31 L.

4-8 not too bright for this team this year. Maybe Italian Ice gives them more spirit, maybe Jean Constant plays even better than he has, but I just don’t see too much good on the horizon for the Seamen. I did hear Milan was lovely in the summer.
