It’s been a single day and I already miss the Olympics. So, to reminisce, I decided I’d make my week two All-Olympics roster. Much like my first Olympics roster, the athletes are picked based on events I’ve seen live, highlights on twitter, crowd support, aura, and overall wow-factor when out there on their respective field. Let’s see who closed out these Olympics on top.
Stephen Curry – Basketball

The US, once again, asserted their dominance in the sport they created but there were plenty of moments of doubt along the way. If it weren’t for the lethal sharpshooter from the Golden State Warriors, the United States might not have even medaled. Curry started slow these Olympics but in the second week, he simply couldn’t miss. Against Serbia he had a whopping 36 points and then in the gold medal match against France it was all Chef Curry down the stretch. If you watched those final minutes in the game against France, you were lucky. It was pure elegance and beauty. I’ve never been more jealous of Warriors fans then when I saw Steph’s rainbow threes seemingly raining in from deep. I learned it’s nice to cheer for one of the sport’s greatest players ever. He makes this game beautiful at times. Nuit Nuit Paris
Mondo Duplantis – Sweden – Pole Vault

The Louisiana-born Swedish Pole vaulter has the charisma of Tom Cruise after saving the world when he hits a big pole vault. In the finals of the pole vault Duplantis decided to continuously try and break his own world record giving every fan in the arena and watching at home the show of a lifetime. In the end, he did break his own world record making the fans go home happy and cementing him as the greatest pole vaulter the sport has ever seen.
Chinese Diving Team

I don’t know about you but by the end of these Olympics I never wanted to see diving broadcasted again. For each event it was a foregone conclusion that the Chinese would win and win big. They took the excitement out of the sport and that is what true dominance looks like.
Sifan Hassan – Netherlands – Long Distance Running

Hassan won the marathon in the final days of the Olympics completing an impressive Olympic stretch. The Dutch runner was the first person to win a medal in the 5,000 M, 10,000 M and in the marathon, winning bronze, bronze, and gold respectively. I found it absolutely fascinating to see the same girl I saw almost winning on the track, blowing by her competition on the streets of Paris.
Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone

Runners were somewhat hard to pick from in the second week of the Olympics as no one truly distanced themselves in multiple events ,but if I had to pick one it would be McLaughlin-Levrone. She broke her own world record in the 400 M hurdles then followed it up with gold as part of the 4 x 400 M hurdles relay team. She was touted as the one to watch out for and she did not disappoint.
Honorable Mentions: Noah Lyles, Mijain Lopez, Aja Wilson, Raygunn (lol).
