It’s the second day after Christmas and I’m bored out of my mind so let’s break down the day in Bowl Season. I will preface this article with some of these teams I just haven’t watched enough of, but I’m doing the research as I write this and I will be your fearless leader in victory.

2 pm slate – Virginia Tech vs Tulane – Military Bowl
Virginia Tech (-10.5)
Virginia Tech has been shit all season, not gonna sugarcoat it. They finished 6-6 and are lucky to even be dancing. Tulane on the other hand had a fantastic season finishing 10-2 but faltered in the last game of the season to SMU. The real reason this line is what it is, is because Tulane’s head coach has left and their starting QB is sitting it out to prepare for the draft. This means we got some backups on the game with a coach who’s never been a head coach. Usually all bad things, but Tulane is going to be fired up, they have something to prove. Their defense has been pretty good. I like them to at least cover because let’s face it. Virginia Tech just isn’t that good and 10.5 is a lot of points.
Safe bet – Tulane (+10.5)

5:30 pm North Carolina vs West Virginia – Duke’s Mayo Bowl
WVU (-6)
The granddaddy of them all the Mayo Classic in Charlotte, North Carolina. North Carolina has a steep home field advantage in this one but they will be without potential first round draft pick Drake Maye, making this game very interesting. Mack Brown has a ton of experience in big games but without his starting QB, this game will be difficult to pull out. North Carolina is on a 2-game losing streak and I feel all of the momentum has been sucked out of their heels. I have West Virginia winning and covering strictly because Drake Maye will not be playing.
Not so safe bet, but it’s the second day after Christmas, what else do you have to do? –
WVU (-6)

8:00 PM Louisville vs USC DIRECTV Holiday Bowl
Louisville (-6.5)
The late slate features two interesting teams going head-to-head. If you think there’s no reason to watch this game, just remember the winner of this game gets an egg nog bath. Pure college football madness. Now, we all know USC will be without star QB and future 1st overall draft pick Caleb Williams, but they will be playing very close to home in San Diego, California (heat of California and egg nog doesn’t exactly mix but who cares it’s just getting dumped on someone’s head). USC hasn’t won a game in almost two months and Louisville can play some good ball. I expect Louisville to cover easily. I honestly think this line is disrespectful even with the home field advantage.
Safe bet Louisville (-6.5)

9:00 PM Oklahoma State vs Texas A&M Tax Act Texas Bowl
OK State (-3)
We head to Houston for the last bowl game of the day and we have an intriguing matchup against two teams in rival states. I feel like in some parallel universe this is a big rivalry game, but for today it’s just the Tax Act bowl. A&M fired Jimbo Fisher after a 6-4 start and have gone 1-1 since, resulting in a very disappointing season. Meanwhile, OK state had a solid season but were absolutely trounced in the Big 12 championship by Texas. Ok state has a brilliant running back in Ollie Gordon and I think he’s the difference maker in this game. Even with the home field advantage, I think OK State delivers a world of hurt on the Aggies to avoid two consecutive losses to Texas teams.
Pokes up OK State (-3)
Lock these in and let ‘em ride. I will ride with you, guns a blazing.
